12 Phonebox Magazine | October 2025 Mark Hadfi eld will star as Agatha Christie%u2019s famous Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, in Lucy Bailey%u2019s new production of Death on the Nile. The UK and Ireland tour visits Milton Keynes next month and Northampton in November.The popular fi lm and theatre star will be joined in the production by Glynis Barber and Bob Barrett. Hadfi eld%u2019s fi lm credits include Belfast, Into the Woods, Hamlet and Frankenstein, while his TV work includes Outlander, Maigret, Doc Martin, People Like Us, Cracker, The All New Alexei Sayle Show and The Buddha of Suburbia. Glynis Barber became a household name when she starred opposite Michael Brandon in the TV series Dempsey and Makepeace. More recent TV credits include series regulars Norma Crow in Hollyoaks, Gertrusha in NBC%u2019s The Outpost and Glenda Mitchell in EastEnders, as well as Jean McAteer in The Royal, DCI Grace Barraclough in Emmerdale, Fiona Brake in Night & Day and Soolin in Blake%u2019s 7. Bob Barrett is best known for his portrayal of Sacha Levy in the longrunning Holby City, a role he played from 2010 to 2022. On fi lm, he played George Bryan in John Madden%u2019s Shakespeare in Love. On stage, he most recently appeared in the UK & Ireland Tour of Agatha Christie%u2019s Murder on the Orient Express and the UK Tour of Agatha Christie%u2019s And Then There Were None.The UK & Ireland Tour opens on 26th September at the Lowry in Salford, before moving to the Richmond Theatre in London.
