They hold meetings twice a month and organise group events, too. Whether you are going through treatment now or you have been through it in the past, the group will listen and off er support, helping to talk through concerns and off ering a range of resources that could help. To celebrate this momentum occasion eighty years later, local communities across the nation are being encouraged to hold events and parties throughout the day in streets, churches, gardens, villages, town halls, pubs, clubs and hotels. Look out for further news as more events are fi nalised including Beacon lighting, fl ag ceremonies and bell ringing, amongst others.In Olney, Mayor Debbie Whitworth has joined forces with the Royal British Legion to host a party at the Carlton House Club from 2-5pm on Thursday 8th May, with a buff et, raffl e prizes and musical entertainment on off er.
