M Koons suffered another setback to their dream of promotion to the championship as Bradford City
win 3-2 at Stadium:MK
MK Dons started the game with their patient passing game before winning a free kick with 5 minutes played right on the edge of the Bradford City penalty area after Dele Alli was tripped. With only a two step run up, Shaun Williams cheekily chipped the ball over the wall and rattled the crossbar with Bradford goalkeeper
Jon McLaughlin beaten.
For the first 20 minutes, Dons were camped in Bradford's half but it was the visitors who took the lead, completely against the run of play on 22 minutes with their first real effort on goal. Gary Thompson fired a flow cross into the box and the in-from Nahki Wells pounced to prod it home and take advantage of some lacklustre defending by the Dons. The home team should have been level just a minute later as, with some brilliant vision and an equally exquisite pass, Alli played Daniel Powell in one on one with the Bradford goalkeeper but the Dons winger could only fire his shot straight at McLaughlin and the chance was wasted.
MK Dons did find their equaliser however on 36 minutes as Bradford werecaught in possession in the midfield. Bamford latched onto a perfectly measured pass from Darren Potter to slot past the sprawling goalkeeper and claim his 1 1 th goal of the season.
Bradford reclaimed their lead just 8 minutes after Bamford's strike as Kyel Reid made tracks down the left unchallenged and after beating two players, his attempted cross caught MK Dons keeper Ian Mcloughlin out and he was left embarrassed as the ball lobbed over him and into the net. In the second half, it was all Bradford as they came out of the half time team talk the much more confident out of the two teams. The away side struck the post with a free kick and saw a free header fly just past the post before the home team levelled the scores up yet again on 72 minutes. After Man of the Match Dele Alli was tripped from behind in the box by goal scorer Nahki Wells, Shaun Williams stepped up and sustained his record of not missing a penalty in two years by sending McLaughlin the wrong way to make it 2-2. But it was Bradford who wrapped up all 3 points for themselves on 81 minutes as James Meredith crossed low to the back post and Jason Kennedy beat Dean Lewington to the ball to finish into a gaping net to steal the result and strike another blow into the fading playoff hopes for Karl Robinsons men. Nevertheless, the late goal made the journey back up the M1 a very joyous one for the travelling supporters.
