I%u2019ve got one %u2013 I%u2019ll tell you it in a moment %u2013 which I%u2019ve come up with as part of a powerful, worldwide trend to choose a single word to define your year ahead.The idea of discovering a single, important word for the next 12 months is different from making a New Year%u2019s Resolution (which lots of people don%u2019t stick to anyway), it%u2019s fun, harmless and actually sets you thinking for a moment or two. What%u2019s going to be important to you? Sum it up in a word.Resolutions usually involve you achieving something or cutting something out for good. This word-choosing scheme is broader than that and is more about setting out intentions or goals that might steer you in the direction of real change, positive growth or greater balance in your life.You could choose a word such as %u2018courage%u2019 because you want to be stronger in 2025. Perhaps you%u2019ll go for %u2018clean%u2019 as you seek greater clarity and simpler guidelines. Or maybe you%u2019ll prefer %u2018renew%u2019 as a way of helping you refresh your priorities in life.How about %u2018grateful%u2019, %u2018energy%u2019, %u2018peace%u2019 or %u2018empathy%u2019? You choose %u2013 that%u2019s part of the fun, and then see if you can live your life with that word in your mind and heart throughout the next year.And wouldn%u2019t it be lovely if thousands of people in Olney, Newport Pagnell and the surrounding villages all took part in this initiative and all tried to follow a buzzword that will make their, and their friends and neighbours%u2019, lives just that little bit better?And my buzzword for 2025? %u2018Togetherness%u2019 because I want Phonebox Magazine to continue demonstrating the wonderful camaraderie, friendship and attachment to one another that we have in our region.
