Friday 22nd of this month marks Earth Day – the annual event created to celebrate the planet’s environment and to inspire awareness about caring for and
appreciating the planet. The day is often celebrated by planting trees, picking up litter, and getting involved with lots of other earth-related activities! There are lots of fun ways to get involved in caring for the planet and local environment. Here are three ways to reuse, recycle and have fun while helping the planet:
Pinecone Bird Feeders
This is a great way to reuse fallen pinecones. To begin with, twist some string or twine around each pinecone so that it can be hung up. It’s best to do this rst, as it can get a bit messy once you’ve nished your bird feeders! Use a spoon to push peanut butter into the sides of the pinecone, and coat it in birdseed. The best way to do this is pour the birdseed into a tub and roll each pinecone in it to cover the whole pinecone. The birdseed should attach itself to the peanut butter quite easily. Hang your pinecone feeders on trees and bushes in your garden for birds to enjoy.
