It has been an eventful December and January at the Football Club with plenty to be very proud and excited about!
Since a 3-3 draw at East Street against Woodford Utd on 28th November the 1st Team have gone on a stunning run of results and
performances, winning all UCL League matches as well as progressing to the Final of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup. The only defeat came at Wisbech (UCL Prem) in the quarter nal of the League Cup! The run of games have seen the 1st Team climb the table and a top four place is certainly up for grabs and there is also a place in the nal of the Buckingham Charity Cup on the horizon should we beat Buckingham Town on the 1st March 2016 KO 7.45 pm.
The squad of players have worked tirelessly with the impressive Jack Weeden already past 28 goals for the season – there is no doubt

that Olney Town are the “form team” of the UCL at the moment and Manager Steve Kuhne was deservedly presented with the Manager of The Month for December, he was ably assisted by Lee Pyke!
The Reserves, managed by Jamie Lands and Dave Morgan, are currently in 2nd place in the UCL Reserve Division and they will be pushing hard to also win honours this year.
The Vets, managed by Mark Kerr, are also on a hot run of form, winning their last three games – scoring 12 goals and conceding none plus securing a comfortable passage into the semi nal of the Vets Cup. As ever the weather has been a real test for us and the Football Club

Since I last wrote, a month ago, Newport Pagnell Town have been unbeaten and remain third in the Premier Division of the United Counties league. They have also progressed to the semi- nal of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy, with an
excellent 3-1 quarter- nal win away against Windsor, winners of the competition for the last two years.
The month of March will see a series of important matches at Willen Road, starting with the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy semi- nal against Holmer Green, an evening match on Tuesday 1st March. When these two teams met at Willen Road in the FA Cup back in August the result was a 6-2 win for Newport Pagnell, but an improved Holmer Green team is currently sixth in the Premier Division of the South Midlands League so we can expect a harder match this time.
After an away league match at Boston Town, there are then three home matches at Willen Road on consecutive Saturdays, beginning with Sleaford Town who are ninth in the table but have beaten two top six teams recently. That is followed by matches against the two teams immediately below Newport in the league, Deeping Rangers and Holbeach United. They then nish the month with an away match on Easter Monday against the current league leaders, Kempston Rovers, who are still unbeaten in the league this season. The 1-1 draw between these two teams on Boxing Day was probably the best match seen at Willen Road this season, so the return match will be eagerly anticipated.
League matches continued with an 8-0 win over bottom team Huntingdon Town at the end of January. This was obviously a good result, but a shout of “You’re getting lazy” was heard from the Newport 84 Phonebox Magazine | March 2016
Bench more than once, and with a slightly more ruthless attitude they could perhaps have improved their goal difference even more against a very weak team that has regularly conceded large numbers of goals. That was followed a week later by a disappointing 2-2 home draw against second from bottom Northampton Sileby Rangers. Dom Lawless was both the hero and the villain that day, scoring both Newport goals but failing with two potentially match-winning penalties. The rst penalty was hit wide of the post; the second was on target but lacking
