NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN fOOTBALL CLUB
North Crawley Bowls Club
Affiliated to Bowls England & Buckinghamshire Bowls Association
Annual General Meeting Tuesday 6th March 2012
The Annual General Meeting for our Bowls Club will be held in North Crawley Village Hall, on Tuesday 6 March 2012 at 8.00pm, when a review of our past years results will be held, as well as appointing our new committee for the forthcoming year. Although we are a relatively small club, we are recognised by our bowling neighbours, both within and beyond Bucks County, as having a top-grade green, and a number of players who compete at County level.
Our 2012 season starts in April and we would very much like to recruit and expand our current membership with new members coming from North Crawley Village and the surrounding areas. Our AGM. will be an opportunity to hear more about North Crawley Bowls Club, and to meet our members. So we would welcome anyone who is contemplating taking up bowling, or is already a player, and ask that you join us in our Village Hall on Tuesday, 6th March. If you would like further details, please ring either of the following numbers:
Chairman (John Clifford) on 01234 391551 Secretary (Sheila Hart) on 01234 750221
Only two days after their 3-2 defeat to Ashington in the FA Vase, Newport Pagnell were also eliminated from the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy, which they had won for the previous two years. A Monday evening match away at Windsor saw the Swans lose 2-1 after extra time.
Back in league action at home to Deeping the following Saturday, Newport showed signs of tiredness after two hard cup games within a few days. Without both regular central defenders, they lost 4-3 in a game of defensive mistakes and missed chances by both teams.
The 'big freeze' prevented any football in the two weeks after the Deeping game. Although this will create some fixture congestion later in the season, it at least gave the players a rest after the hard series of games.
One promising young player has left Newport Pagnell Town recently. Lewis Wilson (seen in action in the photo), who scored a hat-trick in the league match against Irchester a few weeks ago, has signed for Northampton Town, where he has been given a contract to the end of the season so that the manager can have an extended look at him. All at the club wish him well at Northampton.
There are some long journeys coming up for away matches, with trips to Boston and Sleaford on consecutive Saturdays in early March, but we will be hoping to see good support for the first team in its remaining
home games and it would also be good to see more support for the reserve team as they try to continue their recent excellent form.
