Tread the Boards: Help required
Tread the Boards Theatre Group has been providing quality amateur theatre to the Milton Keynes area for over 25 years. From humble beginnings at the Ousedale School's Drama Studio to our recent appearances at The Chrysalis Theatre, Camphill, we have tried to be an inclusive and innovative group.
We became a charity in 2002 with the aim to advance education and to develop public appreciation of the dramatic arts by the performance of dramatic and musical works. To this end Tread the Boards tries to present three productions a year which offer a variety of opportunities
to it members in front of, and behind the scenes, as well as on stage.
During the production process we make our own props, scenery and costume and up until now we have rented storage space in Wolverton from the Community Centre. This space is owned by Tesco and will be demolished when they redevelop their Wolverton site. We need to vacate our store by the end of June.
We desperately need a large, clean storage area, within easy reach of Milton Keynes, in which to create and keep our scenery, costumes and all the other paraphernalia which goes with a theatre group. This space would have to have light and power supplied, be available to use at any time of the day or night and be secure.
We also have a regular requirement for the transportation of scenery, props, lighting and costume between the theatre and the storage area on the days leading up to and after a performance, so we would like to find someone who has access to a large (Sprinter type) van who would be able to help with this, very important, part of our production.
