Stoke Goldington Pre-School update
Summer Term iS in full swing at Stoke! This term’s theme is ‘Healthy Bodies’ and physical development and the children are enjoying making super-healthy fruit smoothies, banana muffins, tasty fruit flapjacks and ‘proper’ lemonade. Their creative juices are flowing making an enormous outdoor beach scene and they plan to visit Stoke Goldington First School for a ‘beach day!’
Last month over 25 children took part in the Barnardo’s Big Toddle sponsored ‘toddle’ around the rec and part of the village. The children really enjoyed the ‘Animal Adventure’ theme with fancy dress galore and all sorts of mini lions, rabbits and bears running along the course and taking part in activities along the way. it was all for a good cause with 75 per cent of funds raised going towards Barnardo’s and the remainder to Pre-School.
This month we’re gearing up for our Summer Fun Day fundraising event on Saturday 16th July – see the article on page 49. We also have Pre-School’s Sports Day on 14th July so the children are all excitedly practicing for their races and ball-game skills. No prizes for guessing the Dad’s race will probably be pretty popular too!
And of course towards the end of term there will be special Leavers’ Presentations for the 15 children who leave us to start First School in September – Jesse, isabelle, Tom, emily, Hattie, eleanor, ruby, Sonny, Georgia, Thomas, Archie, Sebastian, Charlie, magnus and Harry will be very much missed and we will be sending them off with all our good wishes and fingers crossed for ‘big’ School!
if you’re looking for somewhere for your child in September why not come along to see us for a visit before the end of Summer term (19th July). We have places for 2-year olds and above available from September. Sessions for 2- year olds are available on a monday, Tuesday and Friday morning and children aged 21⁄2 - school age can attend on any morning. We run from 9.15am-12.15pm, with a Lunch Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12.15pm-1pm for 3-year olds and above.
