A right Royal time in the run-up to Stoke Pre-School’s Open Morning
The children are back at Pre-School raring to go and full of beans after the easter holidays. Firstly, looking back slightly, we would like to thank everyone who came to our easter disco in early april. Over 120 people came along and the children really enjoyed the bouncy castle and the brilliant disco. Well done to Katie Gibbs, Serena Stelling, Magnus Bull and eleanor Jesson who won the decorated egg & easter Bonnet competitions – they were very pleased with their prizes of easter eggs! We raised over ₤200 which was fantastic, thank you.
Pre-School played their part in celebrating the recent royal Wedding and loved being caught up in a right royal Prince & Princess story. They made & posted a gorgeous card to a very royal address, created streams of bunting, flags and crowns and excitedly enjoyed their own royal Wedding picnic and reception party at Pre-School. The wedding cupcakes will be remembered for a long time too!
looking ahead, this term’s theme is ‘colours’ and we are celebrating World Kids colouring day on May 6th with a massive colouring fest! The children will be cooking a colourful array of assorted jam and fruit tarts and bringing their colour knowledge and skills to life via rainbow jellies, vegetable crudities and fruit kebabs. Being the month of May, the children will also be creating a Pre-School Maypole for the display board and at the end
of the month they will celebrate national Family Week (30th May-5th June) by bringing in family photos and creating family portraits.
We are very pleased to welcome another member of staff to our existing team of 5 – anne O’donoghue joins us this month as a Play assistant. having used Pre-School herself for her four children she has plenty of experience of our setting and is very keen to be on the ‘other side of the fence’ helping the children to develop their learning through play. Welcome anne!
This month we are promoting Pre-School to our local area, firstly at the Stoke Goldington Steam rally on 7th & 8th May when we will have our usual stall at the entrance gate. come along to see us, let the children greet our village mascot Stokie Bear, enter the renowned & hotly-contested Stoke Goldington Sunflower competition and take part in a few other activities we are planning this year.
Following closely on we have our Open Morning on Thursday 12th May from 10am- 12midday. This is a fantastic chance for any prospective parents to see our setting in action, talk to staff and a get a feel for what we can provide for your child. We accept children right from 2-years through to School age every weekday morning and we run a lunch club two days a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays). Plus, this Term we are
introducing an afternoon Session every Thursday through until 2.30pm for those children starting First School in September, once again extending the facility we offer. Spread the word if you can to anyone who may be interested for their child/children and please come along to see us on 12th May.
