Olney Model Railway Club News
The Club exhibiTed its bridge end layout at a recent exhibition in Newport Pagnell to support fund raising for the Methodist church. We regularly support this event and the photo shows two members concentrating on shunting manoeuvres. in addition this year a club member also exhibited their personal layout, Witts end and the photo shows part of the layout with wagons waiting to be sorted to the sidings
On the regular club night meetings work is progressing on the n gauge exhibition layout with a member showing a novel way of modelling the “grass” using a home made electrostatic applicator. The baseboard for the American layout is now almost complete. Plenty of interesting new model locos are appearing on the test track with hopefully more to come courtesy of Santa Claus.
it has been very pleasing to see and increase in attendance at the Thursday meetings but we are still
seeking more
members of any level
of skill and
experience, from
beginners to experts,
to assist in building
the exhibition layouts, to develop their model making skills or just to run their trains on a much larger track than most people have available at home.
The club meets every Thursday from 7.30pm in the permanent club room behind the Carlton Club. Members have a wide range of interests from live steam models to n gauge. Just come along and join in or phone 01234 241686 for more details.
