“JOURNEY FOR HOPE”
Alaska to Argentina by motorcycle
IN A LITTLE over three months time
I will be flying out to Anchorage,
Alaska to embark upon an epic
motorcycle journey of one year`s
duration, travelling over 25,000
miles (more if I get lost!). My plan is
to ride north to Prudhoe Bay, reach
the Arctic Ocean and then turn due
south and head for Argentina.
Weather permitting, I will travel as
far as I can through Patagonia to
reach as far south as possible. In
the process I want to raise as much
money as I can for The
Northampton Hope Centre, a charity that does great work for the homeless and disadvantaged. I`ve worked with them for the last two Christmases and I know that the centre, and staff who work there can be a lifesaver for many people.
If you want to help me and make any contribution (no matter how small), then please go to:

Chinese New Year treat for Tickford Park children
THE WHOLE OF Foundation, 38 children and staff were thrilled to be invited to celebrate Chinese New Year at local restaurant, The Magic Wok in Newport Pagnell. They had been learning about Chinese New Year in school, had tried Chinese writing and even cooked noodles.
When the children arrived they were given a special red envelope containing a menu for each child. They then sampled traditional Chinese food like prawn crackers, noodles with beansprouts, vegetarian spring rolls and chicken balls. The restaurant owner, Tim, helped the children to master the art of using chopsticks to eat their meal, which some children found easy while others had to resort to a knife and fork!
Before they left each child was given a present of their own set of chopsticks, a fortune cookie and a paper dragon puppet.
Teacher Sophie Cull said “The children had a wonderful time, the staff could not have been more welcoming, they put such a lot of effort into making this a special event for us. We are very grateful for this opportunity to show the children a different culture in our own community and would like to thank everyone at The Magic Wok.”
