Maths GCSE
We are offering this course at both campuses, either on Tuesday evenings at Olney or Wednesday evenings at Newport Pagnell, starting week beginning 14/09/09
Time: 7-9pm Duration: 30 weeks Cost: £50.00 (plus materials and exam fees)
The aim of this course is to build up your confidence in using maths in everyday situations.
Students should have some experience of maths although this course goes right back to basics.
You will be able to sit the GCSE Maths examination at the end of the course.
Science GCSE
This course will run at the Newport Pagnell campus on Wednesday evenings, starting 16/09/09 Time: 6-9pm Duration: 30 weeks Cost: £60.00 (plus materials and exam fees)
The aim of this course is to give students a much clearer insight into how Science works.
Students will follow the Core Science course. This will lead to a single GCSE with the
opportunity to achieve the full range of grades. Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, applicants need to have a basic grasp of mathematics and the commitment to study at least two hours per week at home.
Computers for the Terrified
Course available at both campuses, choose Tuesday evenings at Olney campus or Wednesday evenings at Newport Pagnell, starting week beginning 14/09/09
Time: 7-9pm Duration: 6 weeks Cost: £35.00
This course is for the absolute beginner. Basic computer skills will be covered: mouse
control, keyboard familiarity, logging in/out and printing, as well as some background
knowledge such as health and safety. The course will also look at the most common
programmes that are used.
ECDL –Essentials
Course available at both campuses, either Tuesday evenings at Olney campus or Wednesday evenings at Newport Pagnell, starting week beginning 02/11/09
Time: 7-9pm Duration: 12 weeks Cost: £60.00
This course is for the improver who wishes to raise their general level of competency. Modules covered are IT User Fundamentals, Using Email and the Internet and Security for IT Users. Candidates who complete this qualification will obtain a level 1 award.
ECDL – Extra
Course available at both campuses, either Tuesday evenings at Olney campus or
Wednesday evenings at Newport Pagnell, starting week beginning 08/02/10
Time: 7-9pm Duration: 20 weeks Cost: £100.00
This is a full level 2 qualification designed to assess the core applications that a user requires: Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation software and Improving Productivity using IT.
Sweet Treats
This course will run at the Newport Pagnell campus on Wednesday evenings
Time: 7-9pm Duration: 5 weeks Start Date: 23/09/09 Cost: £30.00
Definitely for those with a sweet tooth! This cookery course will cover a range of desserts, cakes and sweet pastries so you need never be stuck for an idea for ‘pudding’ again.
