Olney Tennis Club
Junior teams doing Olney Proud
Olney’s Junior sides are going from strength to strength. The U16 Girls side went to Gerrards Cross to play a Bucks League match and won 4-3 thanks to the efforts of Laura McCoubrey, Jenny Coles, Alice Barr and Amy Hulley. The same side won and lost matches against Great Missenden. Olney is one of the best sides in Bucks and could take the league title.
The U14 boys lost against Chesham Bois despite the efforts of Ben Cross, Henry Clarke, George Adams and Charlie Macdonnel.
The U12 Boys won 6-0 against Milton Keynes thanks to Jono Hulley, Luke Anderson and Richard Marsden. They lost 2- 4 against a strong Halton side with the team being Luke Anderson and Joseph Williams
Andrew Foulkes played his first senior match and won against Wolverton.
May American Tournament
A hardy bunch braved galeforce conditions but were fuelled by tea and cakes. It was won by new member Gun Chui Hwang and Kay Gibbs who beat Chris Wright and Andi Whitham. These events are very popular so we have arranged more of them this year.
The next tournament will be on June 28.
Team News
The Mens A team remains unbeaten after securing a tough 4-4 draw against Milton Keynes who will be a contender like Olney for promotion this year. Olney’s team was Simon Barter, Gun Chui Hwang and newcomers Chris Wright and Gavin Fowell.
The Mens C team pulled off a great win against Wolverton having been 1-3 down at halftime but pulling it back to win 5-3 through the efforts of Andrew Barr, Max Lickfold, Phil Bennett and debutant Andrew Foulkes.

The Mixed team with Mike MacDonnell, David Danskin, Anne Foulkes and Eleanor Carter lost their first match against Milton Keynes.
