Cowper & Newton Cottage Refurbishment
The Cowper and Newton Museum held a garden party on Friday 8th August to thank all those concerned with the recent refurbishment of their cottage, which is for rent. Local companies Marcin, Captain Carpet, Marcus Jordan, DAB Electrical and Magnet who supplied the kitchen were just some of the companies concerned who helped with the project to get the cottage back up to rental standard.
On Wednesday 10th September you have a last chance for 2008 to enjoy coffee and cake in the Museum Garden (indoors if wet)! Gates open at 10.30am. Admission £2.50 to include refreshments. Bring and Buy Stall. Proceeds to The Olney Bells Appeal. All are welcome, so come along and help to preserve a piece of Olney's heritage, to ensure the bells that were heard by Cowper and Newton continue to ring out for future generations to enjoy.

Special Open Meeting Thursday 2nd October 2008 10.30 – 11.30 a.m.
Lovat Hall, Silver Street, Newport Pagnell MK16 0EJ
You are invited to this meeting in which you can participate and support the forthcoming programme for 2009. We want to hear from YOU to give us your opinions and help shape the society in its formative year.
We need a large membership to make this a financially viable society.
Most of all we need YOU to help in many ways. If you really
want this fledgling to fly, please come to this meeting on 2nd October. It will also be an ideal chance at which you will be able to meet fellow (prospective) members, hear the committee’s thoughts and proposals, have tea/coffee etc and let us have your ideas in an open discussion.
These are early days yet and we are carrying out an intensive recruitment campaign so if you have friends whom you think might also be interested, please bring them along. It is essential that we have a firm membership totally in place before we can firmly book the year’s lecturers. Few members = no society.
The committee and I will give you a warm welcome and look forward to meeting you all.
