Olney Senior Citizens Club Christmas Lunch
Olney Town Council hosted the annual town dinner on Friday 4 January in the Olney Centre. The theme this year was volunteering and representatives from the Senior Citizens, Willen Hospice, Olney Scouts, Olney Branch of the British Legion, Olney Rugby Club, The Olney Group (Floral Fiesta) and The Cowper & Newton Museum together with the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, the Mayor and Mayoress of Milton Keynes, the Chief Executive of Milton Keynes Council, Olneyʼs Ward Councillors and Olney Town Councillors enjoyed a splendid meal supplied by local caterers Much Ado. Olney Town Mayor, Cllr John Smail made a very humourous speech and proposed the toast to the guests. The Scout Leader of the Olney Scout Group, Pat Pankhurst made an excellent speech in
response, on behalf of the guests, and in closing proposed a toast to town and trade of Olney. K
The Olney Senior Citizens Club held their Annual Lunch and Party on accompanied by Roy Kitchener on the keyboard. A rendition of Friday 4 January 2008 at the Working Menʼs Club attended by 158 Olney/Cockney slang was given by Roy and the hardworking Pam members. The Mayor and Mayoress of Olney also attended the Morgan which was much appreciated by the audience.

The Senior Citizens Club celebrates its 60th Anniversary this year and is going from strength to strength.K
