On Wednesday 19th December my family and I went to the Olney Working Mens’ Club to see The Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy’s performance of Cinderella.
We were promised “fun and laughter for the whole family” in this hilarious new version of the popular pantomime.
This is what I thought:
The scenery was very good, the large pumpkin carriage was impressive and I loved the costumes. Everyone played their part extremely well, Cinderella (played by Michelle Marlborough) had a lovely singing voice and Buttons (played by Steven Gordon Wilson) kept losing his trousers!!!!!!! Every time Buttons came on stage he
always forgot his hat so every time he came on we had to shout “Buttons where’s your hat?!”
But every time we said it he didn’t hear us until on the 4th time he finally heard us and he went and got his hat and he also threw out sweets as well - but he missed us!!!!
The audience were always included in the pantomime by asking questions and singing and dancing. A key was hidden in the audience that Bethany found and had to go on stage with Robert (her pretend husband to be – they were not happy about being engaged – even for pretend!). I thought it was very funny how Cinderella kept meeting the fairy Godmother (played by Sue Whyte)
but didn’t know it was her fairy godmother. The step sisters were so ugly men played them! Listeria (ugly 1) was played by David
Lovesy and Salmonella (ugly 2) by Steve Clark. The two extremely ugly sisters were very naughty and quite rude and I’m really glad I don’t have wicked and ugly step sisters like Cinderella unfortunately had.
All of it was fantastic, it made me happy and laugh.
The Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy kept their promise, we all had a fantastic time it really was “fun and laughter for the whole family” and I would recommend that everyone goes to their pantomime next year. K
My husband was sceptical but after 20 sessions I have lost over 6inches, I am much more toned, my pelvic floor is back to pre-children and my husband... he‘s as pleased as I am!!
