Hundreds of Newport Pagnell’s residents turned out to watch and take part in a dignified parade along the High Street, with Broseley Brass providing the music for the occasion. As well as a feeling of loss,
there was also a pride amongst the townsfolk who were present.
Dignitaries included the Hon Richard Godber DL, Cllr Mike Barry, Deputy Mayor, MK Council, Cllr Simon Baines, Town Mayor and Mark Lancaster TD, MP, who laid wreaths in honour of those who have given heir lives for their country, in all wars and conflicts, whether uniformed or civilian.
There followed a Service of Remembrance, held in the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, at which the Rev John Lewis MA officiated.
The photograph shows the Newport Pagnell Branch, RBL, Standard Bearers and Escort at the War Memorial together with The Royal Green Jackets TA and Cadets, Police, Guides, Brownies, Scouts, St John Ambulance and Associations. n
