Paul Watson reported that the late information provided by MKC to the District Auditor was being considered but the auditor now needs to seek further legal advice. He had been informed that the report should be available by Christmas, prompting a number of councillors to enquire which particular Christmas that might be!
Traffic calming brainstorming
The issue of traffic and traffic calming in the town is a regular feature at meetings of Olney Town Council, but there is only a limited amount of influence that they can have over the issue since it is controlled by the Highways department of MKC. There was due to be a ‘brainstorming’ session between OTC and members of the Highways department at the end of the week of the meeting. A number of issues would be discussed, including those raised by Lesley Viney during the public participation slot.
The next meeting will be held at 7.30pm on Monday 8th January in the Council Chamber in the Olney Centre. Members of the public are always welcome to attend and, if they wish, speak at the start of the meeting. n
