‘Olney For You’: Town Healthcheck
The Olney Healthcheck, ‘Olney For You’, has gone from strength to strength since its launch in June of this year. With the success of the recruitment process, a broad range of diversity and interests has led to the formation of four working groups: Environment; Economy; Social & Community and Transport & Accessibility. All four groups have now begun to tackle the prominent issues the Town faces with the guidance of worksheets devised by the Countryside Agency. In order to capture the true views of the residents and users of the Town, they have devised a generic questionnaire, which covers key questions identified by all four working groups. We urge as many of you as possible to please take the time to complete this questionnaire. This will be placed in the Olney Phonebox (for those distributed within the town), at Olney Library and be carried out in survey form at occasional Market Days in the New Year. A website www.olneyhealthcheck.com has also been launched where people can comment on issues and ideas for the town. The results will be analysed to inform the group in creating a vision for Olney’s future.
There will be the opportunity for all residents to come along for refreshments and an update at an informal workshop on Tuesday 23rd January, 8.00pm at the Olney Centre. The working groups will be discussing progress to create the future ‘Vision for Olney’.
If you live or work in Olney and have not been to any previous events, but would still like to get involved or find out more, please contact Louise Clarke, Regeneration Officer at Milton Keynes Council, at either: louise.clarke@milton-keynes.gov.uk or 01908 252258. n
