It proposes to replace MK%u2019s three current household recycling facilities in Newport Pagnell, Bleak Hall and New Bradwell and with more modern Reuse and Recycling Centres in the north and south of the city. Last year local people dropped off nearly 25,000 tonnes of waste %u2013 the city council estimates 50% more waste and recycling will come to its tips by 2050. Road praise for the cityThe Milton Keyes area has been listed as one of the best locations in the UK for new and inexperienced drivers to gain confi dence behind the wheel. MK ranked fourth in the Tempcover Insurance survey, with factors including having 86% of its A-roads and motorways in %u2018good%u2019 condition, having an average of just eight rainy days per month, and recording 199 collisions per billion motor vehicle miles - top-ranking Sheffi eld had 471 collisions in this part of the research. Other areas investigated were traffi c levels, collisions blamed on inexperience, quality of B and C-roads and fuel prices, which help to make driving more aff ordable for new motorists. Milton Keynes fi nished favourably in most of these areas of research.Church makes it 700 yearsSt Peter & St Paul Church in Olney is celebrating its 700th birthday this year. This month church leaders will be thinking about those who have been married in the church over the years, and would like people to send in photographs of their wedding in the church to display this year. MK Alliance, a collaboration of local rugby clubs and secondary schools, is working to introduce competitive rugby to children who might otherwise feel excluded from the game. It follows a decline in competitive rugby opportunities, particularly in secondary state schools.
