Run by cousins Una Loughran and Lisa Phillips Murray, the shop opened for business from Saturday 9th November. Northampton born-and-bred cousins, Lisa Phillips Murray and Una Loughran, are bringing elegant living and unique gift ideas to the town with the launch of their new shop Velvet Grey. Situated on the popular Wellingborough Road, the shop will bring something different to Northampton's retail scene with a covetable collection of home decorations, giftwares and individual pieces of beautiful furniture. Originally trained in window-dressing, Lisa has a strong retail and interior design background and lives in Abington with her two sons. From handmade candles to gorgeous wall hangings, we have worked hard to find some amazing and beautiful products to bring to Northampton's shoppers. I am looking forward to helping our customers indulge themselves, or find something wonderful to give as a gift." The cousins will be operating a gift reminder service at the shop, so that those who are inclined to be absent-minded can get timely prompts before a loved-ones birthday, or significant anniversaries. Advice will be on hand in the shop to help customers source the perfect gift for those occasions. Mum of one, Una, runs her own accountancy practice, and believes there is a strong future for Northampton's retail scene: "Even though the economy has been squeezed, people still want a touch of luxury in their homes, particularly as they are staying in more, and this is where Velvet Grey comes in. We are delighted to be joining the other high-quality independent retailers on the Wellingborough Road in Northampton, and can't wait to help local shoppers find products they love."
