                                 School Report
The Busy Bees in Early Years Foundation Stage, welcomed their families and friends to a special breakfast morning last month, as part of the whole School's 'Money Awareness Week.'
Every child in the school was given £5 by the 'Friends' of the school, with the challenge to make or do something with the money in order to turn it into a profit. Busy Bees class decided to join together to host the special breakfast morning with a small charge for yummy tea and crumpets, plus a chance for Mums and Dads to sit down to enjoy a well-earned cuppa before the day ahead! The Learning Ladybirds in years 1 and 2 also came up with some fantastic ideas to make money, from 'bear-sitting' to a movie night. There was also a special 'Market Stall' afternoon, where
Emberton School
We have been sharing our learning at Emberton School; the special guest at our Tigers Tea Party was a handmade and hand painted mod-roe tiger, who helped the children, staff, parents and grandparents munch their way through home-made cakes, biscuits and buns! Then "Put your wellies on and come and see what we're doing, Mum and Dad!" was shouted on the school field where the Forest Schools campfire was lit, and children and grownups could be seen climbing trees, building dens together and searching for 1 m long toasting sticks before whittling the ends to hold a sausage or marshmallow.
In the Foundation class, the children have been dancing like fireworks and talking about how they look and sound. They explored different materials and textures and created collages in the form of Diwali Rangoli patterns using rice, sequins and lentils. They also painted wonderful swirly trees and decorated naturally curly twigs in the style of Gustav Klimt's "Tree of Life".
In Key Stage 1 , the children are lucky to have student teacher Miss Gilchrist with them as she works towards her B Ed learning goal. They have been exploring the new "What's in the Box?" topic by thinking about electricity, memories, instructions and characters; and have enjoyed making lanterns in a workshop with Cornelius and Jones Productions which will be proudly displayed during the run up to Christmas. A sports festival at Olney M iddle School gave the opportunity for some infant to middle school transition time, which will be continued throughout the year.
If you would like your child to attend a rural school with small class sizes, contact us on 01 234 71 1 51 8 and we would be delighted to show you around. Application forms for the September 201 4 intake (children born between 1 September 2009 and 31 August 201 0) are now available from school or from Milton Keynes Council.

pupils could sell items they had made, with some gorgeous and unusual products on sale. All the children are going to decide how to sensibly spend the profit from their 'Money Week', with many of them keen on some new playground equipment.
December sees a special festive whole-school visit to a local Christmas tree farm, along with a trip to watch Alice in Wonderland at The Stables, Wavendon, plus the annual traditional Christingle Service at St. Peter's Church, Stoke Goldington. Pupils are also excitedly preparing for their Nativity play, which this year will be 'A Little Bird Told Me', and once again anticipate a large audience to enjoy their star-studded performance!
A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone from all pupils, staff and governors at Stoke Goldington CE First School.

"A healthy school in body and mind"
Since being awarded 'Healthy School' status, Sherington School has pursued physical and mental health throughout the curriculum and in our overall ethos. Energy Club, run by Miss Angela Lea and recently receiving and award for outstanding provision, provides stimulating and fun exercise in addition to a well-planned PE curriculum. "Icannowdo32lapsoftheplayground. EnergyClub gives me so much energy." Healthy food is also a main focus, this week it was fruit kebabs designed and made by Year 1 . One parent commented: "Thank you! After being so fussy my son has been much more adventurous in what he will eat, and now always empties his lunch box - I'll have to put a bit more in." Local artist Neil Canham came in to provide a feast for the senses; an exciting lantern workshop in preparation for a candle lit procession and firework display. This village and community event, hosted by the school after much effort by parents and volunteers, is truly "food for the souls and minds". C.S.
Newton Blossomville
We are getting closer to our Christmas production of the 'Sleepy Shepherd' and Christmas is definitely on its way...the school is getting more Christmassy each day!
We have had a busy half term, making amazing art in Campbell Park and enjoying the last part of the autumn sunshine. It was a lovely morning, where we collected natural objects in the park which were different colours, looked at the variety of sculptures in the park as well as the different shapes we could see. We finished the morning by building some natural art work , based on the work of Andy Goldsworthy.
We have also been very busy fundraising for Children In Need, where we raised the magnificent sum of £129.35! We all came to school in our pyjamas, made Pudsey biscuits and enjoyed a special lunch for a donation to Children in Need. Our next fundraising project will be for the disaster in the Philippines.
