Olney Fire Brigade
Colin
The Olney fire appliance was in use at the weekend called to the Old Shanghai on the High Street.
It is at times like these that we think of the volunteer fire fighters who do a good job to keep us safe.
Thank you for all your efforts
Thanks for Printing Trevor Yorke
Just a quick note to say thanks very much for printing the programmes for our concert which took place last Saturday evening. I’m pleased to say it was a great success in the end, we sold all 90 tickets! Thanks also for your help in publicising the concert in the pages of The Phonebox.
Road Racers
Missing ... Rag Doll
Dear whom it may concern,
I would like you to publish a matter of concern in Weston Road in your next issue. I have lived in Weston Road for 20 years and over the years I have noticed that people no longer seem to understand that the road actually has a 30mph speed limit and is not a main road as many users seem to think. I have recently had my six month old kitten run over by yet another careless driver on Weston Road and this has not been the first. It worries me to think people are driving this fast along a road that is wide enough to swerve to miss a small cat. There is also a playground on the other side with children too. It also annoyed me that this woman said that it was careless to have a cat next to a main road; it is not a main road and has never been. I hope people will read this and maybe re-think speeding down a road with houses along either side who own pets and have children.
