They lost against a strong Wolverton side despite the efforts of Chris Wright, Gun Chui Hwang, Ian Dunkley, Phil Bennett, Sam Mailman and Stephen Bateson. However they beat Princes Risborough thanks to Phil Anderson, Simon Barter, Chris and Gun and Phil Bennett and Andrew Barr, then had their best result against previously unbeaten Penn and Tyler Green with Gun and Simon, Ian and Stephen and great performances by Juniors Charlie Boatman and Daniel Cornwall. The Mens A have struggled this season, unable to put out their strongest sides but picked up 3 out of 4 points in their last 2 matches. Stephen Bateson, Phil Anderson, Chris Wright and Phil Bennett secured a draw with Leighton Buzzard then Nigel Willard and Gavin Fowell won 8·0 with Juniors Charlie and Stephen. The Mens B are leading their division. The latest win was a 8-0 victory against Wolverton thanks to Fraser Chamberlain, Simon Barter, Dan Avenall and Stephen Bateson. The Mens C is in third place with a chance of promotion. In their last match they beat Open University. The team was Ross Urqhuart, Ted Barnes, Stua Ayling and Malcom Donne. The Ladies B are finding it tough this season in a higher league. Wimbledon American Tournament A fun event sponsored by the Jardine Motors Group was held in lovely weather and we were pleased to have more Rusty Racket players entering and enjoying themselves. , Wic Just some of the services we can provide: one of their top small clubs with over 80 competing in Our coaches took six Olney juniors to the second week by invitation by the LTA 32 players took part and there was demand for another court. Strawberries and Cream were enjoyed between games and Beryl Rook won the service competition. The final was won by Phil Anderson and Lynn Quennell against by Sarah Wilkinson, Beryl Rook, Anne Bacon and Lynda Baker. In contrast, the Ladies C is leading their division with a 100% record. In their last match they won 8-0 v Newport Pagnell thanks to Ruth Ayling, Jo Bedward, Jo Weatherill and Jo Walker. The Mixed A is in mid table after a big win against David Lloyd as Nigel Willard, Eleanor Carter, Gill Hogston and Gavin Fowell played well. The Mixed B is top of their division after toppling previous leaders Silve rstone in a close match. It was great performance by Dan Avenall, Stephen Bateson, Lynda Baker and Sarah Wilkinson. The Mixed C is having a tough time but is giving players the chance to play team tennis. They lost against Great Linford with Olney's players being Alistair White, Stuart Ayling, Jo Weatherill and Jo Bedward. Junior Team results Our Juniors continue to do wel l in the local leagues. The Under 9A is winning their league and beat Wolverton in the last match thanks to Alex Eglinton, Jake Sargeant and Braedon MacGregor. The U10 team is winning their league. The U12 Boys are second after being beaten by a strong MK side despite brave efforts by Timothy Ball and Jacob Parsons.The same happened to the U16 Boys despite good play by Josh Eglinton and Matthew Balambra. We are also in the tennisMK cup finals for U9, U10 and the U16 girl's final is an all Olney match. National Mini Tennis Week We ran avery successful National Mini Tennis week where Nigel coached all year 1 's & 2's at Olney infants. We had 72 children attending our open day which was a great response. A mega thanks to Liz and Emma for running the event.
