considered appropriate to reduce risk of accident whilst the Council considered redesigning the junction.
We now know the Conservative controlled Milton Keynes Council has rejected the call to redesign the junction to make it safer. The Newport Pagnell Focus Team will however continue to press for the junction to have the risk of accidents removed.
Carnival
The Liberal Democrats participated in the Newport Pagnell Carnival on Saturday 6th July.
Newport Pagnell Councillor Andy Marie was "captured" and put in the stocks. Visitors were encouraged to throw wet sponges at him. This was well received by the public but was very uncomfortable for Cllr. Marie but enjoyable for the public - good job it was a hot day.
The new Ward Boundaries have been finally agreed by the Boundary Commission. These include the new Ward of Newport Pagnell North and Hanslope. This will include Castlethorpe, Haversham, Hanslope, Redhouse Park and Stoke Goldington along

Work was completed during the first week in July to resurface another section of the A509 from A422 (H3) up to the hotel. This was following continual lobbying by local Lib De Councillors after only a 300 metre section had been resurfaced earlier in the year.
Wolverton Road and the High Street plus Giffard Park and Blakelands.
The 'all out' elections on the new boundaries will take place on Thursday 22nd May 2014. The European Parliamentary elections will be held on the same day.
The reason given for the completion of such a small section of road at the beginning of 2013 was that investigation showed that the under road surface was also in need of repair. We are informed that the remainder of the road to the M1 will be resurfaced next year when more funds are available.
A contribution from Cllr Paul Alexander
In addition, the length of Little Linford Lane from the Motorway bridge up to The Red House Pub in Newport Pagnell was recently resurfaced, with Station Road scheduled for later in the year. Both of which were long overdue.
New Sign Fitted
Milton Keynes Ward Boundaries
Some years ago due to pressure from members of the public, Liberal Democrat Councillors fought hard to get signs fitted at either end of the alley between Hill View and Cromwell Avenue.
The roundabout C/lr Paul Alexander helped get repainted
This was a convenient short cut for both horses with riders plus cyclists, but this practice was dangerous and the introduction of the signs gave some clarification to the situation.
Cyclist Dismount was clear but the sign for "No Horses" (as given in the Highway Code) was clearly ambiguous and many users were unclear what the signs meant.
For over a year now, Cllrs. Paul Alexander and Derek Eastman had been continually pushing the idea of an alternative sign which would make the situation clearer, and safer for pedestrians.
Recently two new signs were installed, one at either end of the alley, which will make the situation clearer for cyclists and horse riders/ owner and will ensure that pedestrians can walk along this path without danger.
Junction of Westbury Lane and Wolverton Road - Roundabout made clearer
Several weeks after asking for the white lines at the junction of Wolverton Road and Westbury Lane to be repainted they have at last been renewed.
