 SOAPBOX
DERBY
 Newport Muster
This years Soap Box Derby on Sunday 7th July once again proved to be a glowing success. Amongst the teams taking part were Hotshots, Stratton No Pedal Autos, The Pods, Team Jacob, Wooden Go, Speedy Gorgonzola, Team Rollie Hodge, Shake Rattle & Roll and Team Hart. Impressive crowds of spectators cheered on the drivers and their speedy machines along Silver Street. After several knock out race rounds the honers went to Team Jacob (the speedy shark soap box for those that are not aware).
The fifth Newport Muster, a festival of walks in and around Newport
Pagnell, will be held on Saturday 14th September 2013.
New for the Picnic Walk this year is a "Picnic Point" hosted by the Newport Pagnell Carnival Court. Here is where you will get your Walk Card checked plus they promise to have music, soft drinks and maybe some light refreshments! We also will have a "Willen Competition" for the younger walkers (maybe with a bit of help from Mum or Dad!)
The six mile walk is a Garrison Town Walk which focuses on Newport Pagnell as a Garrison Town in the Civil War of 1 642-1646.
A big congratulations to Martin Allen & Co and a even bigger thank you to Nick, Gary, Rob, Scot and all the others in the team and community that have worked so hard to put this event together again. Already looking forward to next year MS
The nine mile Walk in the Country takes you out into the beautiful countryside surrounding Newport Pagnell. And the 15 mile walk is A Stately Ramble. Not for the faint hearted, this is a challenging and rewarding walk that takes you past our "stately homes", ie Gayhurst House, Tyringham Hall and Chichley Hall. Further information and how to register can be found on our website: www.newportmuster.org.uk.
If you would like to walk with us but do not want to walk on your own, please let us know at newportmuster@hotmail.co.uk and we will do our best to find you a group to walk with.
