TWO JOBS WELL DONE!
THE SKILLS CENTRE
We have also had some excellent news about the Skills Training Centre, part of which opened its doors to students last year. We now hear that from September 2013 it will be sponsored by a local college who will be able to offer higher level courses and extend the building. This is a great achievement for the group of young people in Newton who undertook this project with the help of funds raised by us in Olney. We will continue to develop the other parts of the building to become an administrative area and a building and carpentry department.
With your help we can continue to help the people of Newton. Our next major event is the rescheduled concert

We are delighted to be able to report two items of good news about our projects in Newton, Sierra Leone this month.
THE WATER WELL.
–
By the time you are reading this we will have sent the money to complete the reconstruction of the village water well. Last year the young people of Sutcliff Baptist Church raised over £1000 for this project and since then we have been steadily raising the £2000 needed to complete the rebuilding work. Thanks to private donations and the result of several events we have now achieved this just in time for the onset of the rainy season in Sierra Leone which last year resulted in an outbreak of the dreaded cholera.
