8:00pm until 12:30am
Though Joe Driscoll and Sekou Kouyate share no common spoken language they have no problem communicating through music. Sekou is known in France as the Jimi Hendrix of the Kora due to his individual style of playing with various effects across a spectrum of different genres. Joe Driscoll is the man you may mostly have heard of. Labeled ‘‘the gangsta with an iron lung’ by Cee-Lo Green, Jo has been creating quite a stir performing at Glastonbury Festival, Electric Picnic in Ireland, and Lake of Stars in Malawi, Africa. After just a week of jamming together, these two musicians from opposite ends of the earth knew that they had found a special type of musical brotherhood. The resulting album is a mad fusion of afrobeat, hip-hop, folk, and reggae, that defies any simple tags or description. This is a strongly recommended gig! Tickets £5 on door.

ElectraPop! is held at The Watershed in Newport Pagnell. Inside what was formerly the Electra Cinema and music venue, the Watershed is a great place for watching bands.
