Olney Pre-School News
Despite the recent cold weather, the children have been enjoying the outdoors, building snow people and holding our own version of the pancake race! We also headed out of Pre-School on a walk from the Olney Centre to the Market Square (and back). This gave us the opportunity to talk to the children about road safety and explain the differences between Zebra and Pelican crossings. Whilst on our walk, the children tried to spot as many things as possible beginning with the letter ’B’. We are using one letter sound a week as a focus of phonic games and songs. Differentiating and identifying initial sounds
of words is an important pre-reading skill.
