Swim to Success
What a busy and fantastic start to 2012 for Newport Pagnell Swimming Club! We have been involved in two open meets and two galas with great successes in all.
In January we took part in round one of the Home Counties League in Dunstable and finished in 2nd place only seven points behind the eventual winners.
We then went to Bletchley and participated in the first round of the Chiltern League which gave some of our younger swimmers the chance to swim in their first gala. We finished with an overall 5th place.
We sent a small team to the Linslade Last Chance open meet. We took seven 1st place age group finishes, Elliot Owen in the 50m Butterfly, 50m Backstroke and 100m IM, Georgia Forrow in the 50m Butterfly and 200m Freestyle, Chloe Pack in the 50m Butterfly and Josh Forrow in the 50m Butterfly.
Finally, we sent a team of 13 swimmers to the Watford County qualifier. 27 personal bests and four 1st place age group finishes, James McLean in the 200m and 400m Freestyle, Dominic Frost in the 50m Backstroke and Helen Sanderson in the 200m Butterfly. Helen’s swim was also a club record, a feat she matched in the 100m Butterfly.
Congratulations to all our swimmers, who have started the year in great style, demonstrating that all the hard work in the training pool is certainly paying-off.

The Annual General Meeting of the Newport Pagnell Business Association will be held at the Swan Revived Hotel on Monday 12th March at 6.15p.m.
The Association is especially keen to meet new and entrepreneurial business people both within the town and “out in the sticks”. So, if your business is within MK16, come along. There is no charge to attend and the regular monthly meetings are renowned for being positive, not negative, with no “twaddle, waffle or stuff like that”.
