OLNEY CAMERA CLUB
ClUb member hAydN langley was speaker for the camera club’s monthly meeting. haydn spoke on digital Asset management, covering a full digital image workflow. This included ingesting images, the importance of metadata in images, consistent tagging using controlled vocabularies to ensure images are easy to find, rating for quality and culling where necessary. This was followed by a brief practical demonstration using cataloguing software to illustrate the points.
he then moved on to practical demonstrations of layer blending modes, selective colouring techniques and using multiple exposures and masking to blend images for better exposure. This was done using the Gimp as a free alternative to photoshop.
OCC also took part in the annual inter-club competition versus Towcester. hopes that Olney would retrieve the trophy this year were quickly dashed when it became clear that Towcester had won for the second year running. The final scores were Towcester 350pts to OCC 333.5pts.

Charity needs
your help
AshA NepAl is a human rights organisation working for women and children in Nepal.
We are a small charity run on a totally voluntary basis in the UK by a small team of trustees with a deep personal commitment to transforming the lives of exploited, abused and endangered women and children in Nepal.
Asha is the Nepali word for hope. hundreds of thousands of women and children in Nepal suffer daily from extreme human rights abuses – sex trafficking, sexual and physical abuse, child labour, and discrimination due to gender, caste and hiV/Aids. We are fighting for women's social status to be raised, to help victims break free from this vicious, violent circle.
