OLNEY CAMERA CLUB
THERE WaS a good attendance for the club’s recent audio visual competition, with lots of enthusiasm from those members who are keen to get started with aV’s for the first time. Tony Joyce, who has been returning to support the club for the last four years, was the judge for the event. First place went to Tony Lamming with “Luminance”, an amazing series of photographs inspired by the beauty of light, colour and geometry.
December also saw the final print competition for 2010. The snow and bitterly cold weather kept attendance down and Colin Mill from Milton Keynes had less than the usual number of entries to judge. The winners of the three categories were Sport; “Lineout” by David Rumens; Open “Winter Web” by John Hughes and Religion; “Ghost” by alan Paul. The Print of the Evening went to John Hughes with “Winter Web”.
The Colin Gadsby trophy was presented to John Hughes who achieved an excellent overall score of 40 pts for the year.
The next club event will be on 26th January 2011 at the Olney Centre at 8.00 pm when the evening will be presented by andy Gailer. The full programme for the year is now available on the club’s website www.olneycameraclub.co.uk

IPEC DONATES
WALL ART
On Monday 6th December, students from the IPEC Centre in Bletchley presented a piece of art to Willen Hospice that will be hung in the Garden Room.
Students from IPEC, a centre for young adults who have experienced educational and behavioural problems through personal difficulties, had previously spent time with patients to try to understand their personal experiences of living with their illnesses. Subsequently, they created a collage to demonstrate this in an art form.
Paul Hinson, Chief Executive at Willen Hospice attended the presentation, he said: “It is wonderful to see such imagination and creativity come from meeting and talking with the patients. This was a hugely valuable experience for young people with difficulties and I am delighted with the maturity and enthusiasm they have shown towards this project.”
