HAVE YOUR SAY
Letters
Dear Editor
Regarding the letter in November’s Phonebox about bellringing in Olney Parish Church. It seems to me that they have forgotten that we also have a Church Clock that was brought back, but unfortunately that has now got a restriction order on it. It does NOT chime on the hour 24/7. What a waste of money sending the clock away to be repaired, cleaned and brought back to Olney just to hang in the Church until someone decides to let it chime.

I would like to thank the group of Emberton people for putting on
such a lovely Christmas meal for the Senior Citizens on December 4th. Although I was unable to attend, a meal and all the festive trimmings was bought up to me at home.
I think this was a lovely thing they did for us.
I would like to wish them all a very happy
Christmas, and all the best for 2011.

Daniel P of the Slade Centre
I am a donkey. My name is Daniel P. I live at the Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth and came from a good home. I am not one of the many rescued donkeys, some with very sad tales to tell.
I am one of four extra special donkeys. Special because we work with a group of donkeys at the Slade Centre, giving rides and helping children with special needs.
The extra – we are adopted by supporters.
Now that I am 21 and worked for 16 years, I have recently retired, during my time as a riding donkey over a thousand people have supported me. Some came to my retirement party.
Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, the founder of the sanctuary and the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for children and donkeys cut my cake.

If you would like to join the Legion please make contact – you don’t have to be in the services.
Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.
