This year was the 100th year of the Girl Guiding movement. Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides have been celebrating all over the country with many exciting and different events to mark this special year.
St Paul’s church. Most of the Brownies went to sleep straight away but the Sixers stayed up until 3am. Poor Brown Owl.
hundred and thirty three girls all had a good time, blowing bubbles outside, playing games, speaking to our special guests and eating cake.
Our local District held many joint events beginning with an exciting launch of our special year held in Wing.
We went on a special outing to a circus at Green Park near Aylesbury. We had to learn new skills and many of us came home with new circus tricks.
The guests included the Mayor of Milton Keynes and her husband, the Mayor and Mayoress of Olney, Revd Claire Wood, a representative of the Olney Masonic Club. Members of the Trefoil Guild of Guiding and several of our past Olney Guiding members/leaders.
For Thinking Day this year we all gathered together in Olney Infant School for a very special day, and spent our time doing arts and crafts! Each Brownie Pack was then judged and this year, my pack, the 2nd Olney Brownies won.
Another event was something called Brownies’ got talent and everyone had a chance to show something that they could do well. There were dancers, singers, musicians and actors and everyone had a good time.
At the end of the evening and the year we all renewed our promise. It was a great year and I have really enjoyed it!
We also slept out overnight in St Peter &
