LAVENDON TRAVELLER SITE APPEAL WITHDRAWN
Just as we thought the process of the appeal for the refusal of planning permission for the Lavendon Traveller site was progressing something came out of the blue. On Friday the 15th October we found out the appeal had been withdrawn by the applicant. As most people will know the site has been for sale for the past few months and has now possibly been sold. Future ideas for the site are not known however, the principles laid down in the two planning applications remain, the site has a vehicular access onto the road and it will not be allowed for anything more than the current agricultural access. This in effect rules out any development of the site and is further the case because the site remains in open countryside. When more information becomes available we will of course pass it on.
MORE ROAD WORKS NEAR JUNCTION 14
By the time this article is released work should have started on creating a bus lane for accessing the new Coachway site near to Junction 14 of the M1. The works will be on the A5130 which heads to Woburn Sands. The project will widen the road to allow for a dedicated bus lane to be installed which will enable busses to exit Coachway faster. This project has been in the planning for some years and the money was provided in a grant from Government totalling just over £5 million. The works do have to be completed quickly as the grant only lasts until the end of March 2011. If there are any works outstanding at the end of March, the project has to be completed at the expense of the tax payers of Milton Keynes.

RAVENSTONE CABLING & DRAINAGE WORKS
Anyone who has driven past or through Ravenstone lately will know that significant works have been progressing since the summer to replace the electricity supply cable for most of the village. When this was necessary, the provider Central Networks took the opportunity to put the supply underground to improve the street scene of the village which is a Conservation Area.
Drainage works also required have been undertaken by Milton Keynes Council on Mill Lane leading into Ravenstone and these were planned for the same time to minimise the disturbance to residents. These works are now coming to an end with road repairs that are needed due to be undertaken and then the road resurfaced. Much improved street lighting will also soon be completed.
NUNN WOOD WIND FARM
The planning application for the Nunn Wood wind Farm was submitted nearly two years ago and as part of the application process the local authorities involved (Wellingborough, Bedford & Milton Keynes) asked for more information from the applicant. This supplementary information was a long time coming but was finally submitted to Milton Keynes Council and the other planning authorities in October. Any further comments need to be received by the planning authority by the 8th November to ensure that they are taken into account. They may still be registered after this date but that is not guaranteed. If you wish to make further comments than please quote ref 08/02118/FULEIS and e-mail alan.mills@milton-keynes.gov.uk or write to Alan Mills at the Civic Office address below.
Our next Surgery will take place on Friday November 5th at The Olney Centre from 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Please come along if we can be of any assistance or contact us at any time on the details given.

Organised by Senior Anaesthetic Practitioner Karen Phillips and Miss Amanda Taylor, Consultant Breast and General Surgeon and designed to raise awareness of breast cancer as well as much needed funds – Rose Court played host to a unique Think Pink & Glow Night.
Many businesses in the
town had supported the event wholeheartedly including CT Wilson’s who had been selling

LAVENDON PAVILION FUN SESSION
Lavendon’s successful Parent and Toddler group, run by Milton Keynes Pre-school Learning Alliance, ran a Family Fun session. Although the weather was not on our
side all who attended had an
enjoyable afternoon of painting, sticking, sand and water play and between the showers a bounce on the inflatable castle provided by the Play Association. The Play Association also offered a variety of sporting activities to entertain the older children. We both share the excitement of local families about the opening of a new Pre-school Learning
