THIS WAS US on Monday 18th October, visiting Desmond Smail’s new showroom in Olney. We were given a brief introduction and tour by Lucy Abbott, then tried to complete a quiz and finally designed our own special car. Some of us had the opportunity to sit in “The Le Mans Winner 2008” – worth around £1m but we were told not to remove the dirt – it’s part of the magic! This event, organised by Lesley Viney, was appreciated by the boys, girls and the dads taking their turn at parent duty.
Beavers in the UK are celebrating their 25th anniversary next year. With that in mind it is amazing to think that our Beaver Leader Tricia Selwood has been with Olney Scout Group for 15 years. Below you can see Kevin Philips the new Group Scout Leader giving Tricia Selwood her 15 year award.

Have you been involved in Scouting before, do you know anyone who has?
We currently have a vacancy for a Scout leader to run our Friday night Scout Troop.
There’s no pay, no perks, no company car, but the rewards are endless and a sense of satisfaction is guaranteed.
We have a dedicated group of leaders who are always willing to assist our new members and full training is provided.
This role can if necessary be job shared.
