LASSAN 10th & 11th October
The new Indian Restaurant, Lassan, opened its doors for the first time this month and we were lucky enough to be on the invitation list. They have done an amazing refurb on the old Castle pub, with tasteful and sophisticated decor in shades of chocolate and taupe. They welcomed us with lots of free flowing drink and a jazz band playing lovely music. The place was packed out with lots of the usual suspects both sides of the bar. Starters were gorgeous, in particular the tandoori salmon and the spicy potato rosti - presented beautifully. The main course, a buffet, was good, fresh, well seasoned. The dessert was unexpected and a delight - I am sure there is an Indian name for it, but it was basically a miniature treacle pudding with ice cream - spot on. Well done lads, you put on a good show.
