Olney Town Cricket Club
The cricket season is now in full swing and as a reminder to all players subscriptions are now due! We have a full season of games on both Saturdays and Sundays, through to September. Fixture cards are now available and can be obtained from Stephen Oakley. Alternatively check out the website at www.olneytowncricketclub.co.uk. So far both Dave Hurley and Callum Berrill have scored early centuries. Outdoor nets sessions are held at the Recreation Ground on Tuesday evenings. Anyone interested in attending should contact Stuart Keeping on 07900 803122.
The newly extended bar will be open in the pavilion for all home games, so come down to watch. The bar provides a service to all Social Members of the Club, and social membership is available at the very reasonable rate of £2 per annum. Ask behind the bar.
Youth coaching sessions are also underway either at the Recreation Ground or at Ousedale School, if you have yet to register your son or daughter then please contact David Harrison on 01234 345789 or email dvdharrison@aol.com. New members are always welcome.
Many thanks go to all our local sponsors who have continued with their generous donations despite the difficult economic climate. We will be holding our annual Sponsors Evening on Friday 3rd July to thank them for their efforts. As usual a game of 20:20 cricket will be followed by a buffet and, of course, the bar will be open! All spectators are welcome.
The sponsorship money has been invested this year in new sightscreens, together with CCTV cameras to cover the front and rear of the pavilion. We hope that this will prevent the vandalism that we saw over the winter.
Winners of the 100 Club draw for March were as follows, £100 to John Megeary and £30 to Chris Sear.
