Olney ducks are in training!
‘Have you seen our
yellow ducks?’ the
Beaver Scouts ask
Beaver Sunshine and Sporty
Beaver. The Cub packs wonder why the Beaver Scouts are getting so upset about some silly ducks.
The Scout troops know why, the leaders and Group Executive know where they are – in training at a secret hideout.
Why should they be in training, do you know? Its Olney Duck Race on the 28th June at 1 pm at the Weir
1st prize £100, 2nd prize Xmas Hamper, 3rd prize £20
and the Scout Group need to get the ducks ready to race against each other so they need to get fit if they are to swim down the river.
The Group will be selling tickets around Olney at various events including the Cherry Fair on the 27th June and if we have any tickets left, at the Weir itself on the 28th.
If you want tickets to buy or find out further about the Duck Race please contact Hannah 01234 711618.
Thanks to all those who responded to the article about the
Olney Town Hanging Baskets. Lots of firms and individuals
came forward and supported with sponsorship. This ensures that the baskets are financially viable for 2009 and there is a small surplus to pass on to 2010. My thanks to all 2009 sponsors for their generous support.
