OLNEY CAMERA CLUB
A special event was held at the Olney Centre in April to celebrate the club’s 10th anniversary with a visit from Will Cheung, ARPS, FRPS. A judge and lecturer on the club and international circuits, he was formerly editor of ‘Photography Monthly’ and ‘Practical Photography’ magazines before moving on to travel the world as a freelance professional photographer.
Although most of his work is now digital, Will still likes to use film, especially black and white. His love of black and white photography was evident with some very impressive examples of his moody, grainy style and use of light. Will kept his audience captivated with his projected images on a variety of subjects from landscapes and travel to portraits and candid shots.
The evening was well supported by members and guests from other clubs in the area.
Club members recently took part in the first print competition of 2009 and the winners in the three categories were as follows: Film
