Olney Bowling Club
Clouts will be cast as May is out at last. There will be three particularly notable dates during the month. Diaries ready? Good!
Sunday 3rd May, Middleton Cup Trial Match, Starts at 10am, Bucks vs Bedfordshire.
Saturday 9th May, Internal Trial for Homecounties League and Middleton Cup, Starts at 10am.
Sunday 10th May, Club Open Day, Starts 2.30pm. This is the day when club members welcome all comers; experienced bowlers, of course and we like also to encourage anyone who wants to have a go, even if you have never picked up a bowls wood before we will lend you some, give you tuition and maybe a cup of tea and a sticky bun. All we ask is that you wear soft soled shoes with no heels and do not drop a wood on your toes (or anyone elses).
PS: The bar is likely to open, otherwise why call it an “Open Day”?

Olney Rugby Club
Olney Rugby Club would like to thank all those who participated in their Auction of Promises and helped raise nearly £14,000 towards club funds. This proved to be a great event, as we continue to raise the remainder for the completion of the highly written about ‘Doff’s Field’.
Olney Rugby Club are also pleased to announce the third Olney 7’s Tournament is to be held on Saturday 4th July 2009. Any teams
interested can see the full details on the club website: www.olneyrfc.co.uk. The event is a great day for the entire family, with a variety of entertainment provided from face painting to a light refreshment from the bar.
Olney Rugby Club always welcomes new players and social members. Although the rugby season is coming to an end, be assured there are always members willing to show prospective members around our excellent facilities.
