Extending the fun at Tickford Park
Our Extended Schools Programme continues to expand with clubs and activities to suit almost everyone. Our sports line up includes football, run by Elite Coaching, Tae Kwon Do (TKD Martial Arts) and gymnastics (MK Springers). We also have cheerleading by MK Cheerleading Academy, Dance by Hayley and Drama led by Arts 1. Creative needs are satisfied by cookery with Mrs Cull and Creative Peace Art Club with Mrs Down. The Rev. Beverley Hollins runs our Spirit Level Club in school and the local Brownies meet here as well. The clubs are all very popular and new ones are being added all the time, often at the suggestion of pupils. The latest, ready to start after Easter, is Circus Skills by “It’s Him”.
Books and stories have been on everyone’s mind lately, with a visit from the School Library Service book van, which came to exchange some of our library stock. Children from every class in Upper School went onto the van to select exciting new books for our library. We have also enjoyed two visits from Paul Dorney, also from SLS who performed story times for Lower School children and did different book talks to each year in Upper School. The children loved having him read to them and he introduced the older children to many authors they may not have seen before. This year’s World Book Day was celebrated with lots of activities and competitions in school.
