Firstly, welcome to our first advert in the Olney Phonebox!! Although it has taken this long to do we have been resident in our current shop and workshop for 15 years!! Microsoft Windows Vista SP1: The first Service Pack for Vista has taken just over a year to arrive, and will appear automatically in Windows Update starting in March. We have been using the standalone install code ahead of time to see how it affects Vista in everyday use – generally we can report that those who have stayed away from Vista awaiting its release should now feel happy about the upgrade and those who took the plunge and were disappointed by performance will now be happy! However, Vista still remains approx. 8% slower than Windows XP on the same hardware – the general rule is, if you want Vista, buy lots more memory!
AMD Quad Core Processors: AMD are pushing the market forward with the new range of Quad Core based processors. Billed as ‘The ultimate megatasking experience’ the new processors are immediately available in 9500 (2.2GHz) and 9600 (2.3GHz) variants, both with Black Edition (unlocked) variants. Prices are very keen – call us for a bespoke system specification and price.
