Woggle Power
Our Cub Scouts certainly have imagination. They have ‘woggle power’ which to them can overcome anything. I wonder though if they can use it to find an assistant leader/adult helpers for their pack?
Olney Scout Group is the biggest in Milton Keynes Great Ouse Scout District (2008 census) and continues to grow. We now have a waiting list of young people who want to join. What we do not have are leaders and helpers to come and work with our existing team. We currently have one Beaver Colony, Two Cub Scout packs and one Scout Troop.
Cowper Cub Scout Pack has a new leader and is being support by the Group Scout Leader and Beaver Scout Leader working alternative weeks. After Easter a new Scout troop will have to start to take the Cub Scouts reaching Scout age. In the interim I will be running the troop with a sectional helper.
‘Woggle Power’ in Olney is definitely on the increase and supports local events, the Duck Race and Dickens etc. Would you like to become part of this successful team?
What do we need and who are we looking for? Firstly you do not have to be young, just have the right attitude to life. Life experience and an ability to join in, have a sense of humour and work with our very mixed team of leaders and support team.
We need leaders and helpers for our sections and also anyone interested in joining our supporters to assist with the day to day running of the Group. K

New City Photographic Society
The Milton Keynes Photographic Alliance print competition between members of local camera clubs produced its own ‘first’ when the same author’s work came first
in both the colour and
monochrome sections. This winner was Sheila Gillow from Leighton Buzzard. Second place in the colour prints went to Irene Clarke and third place to Doug Child both of New City PS. Third place in the monochrome section went to Lisa Winson of Olney Camera Club. The competition attracted 101 entries and 27 awards were made. All the entries are now on display at the Library, Central Milton Keynes until 28 March.
In yet another
competition, a picture
entitled ‘Energy’ by
Peter Clarke was the winner of the NPCS members’ competition for Creative Digital Images. K
