Letter from Royal Court
Dear Readers
Hope all of you have had a good Easter. We have been busy since our last letter. Not only have we been planning the upcoming selection night, but we also took a trip to Coventry to present a cheque to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance service. When we arrived there, we were greeted and shown round the building and got to sit in one of the helicopters.
This year’s selection night to be held on Friday 25 April at The Working Men’s Club will be different from previous years. We thought we would make it more interesting to open it up to the people of the town to come and watch the local girls perform a talent of their choice eg: dancing, acting, singing or playing a musical instrument.
For our young girl readers, please check out the posters being put up around Olney. To enter in for Princess, you must be aged between eight and 12, and for Queen aged 13+.
If you are interested, please complete a nomination form which can be obtained from Orchard Press, Ousedale Campus, Middle School, Youth Club and send to Elaine Baron – 10 Hollow Wood no later than Friday 11 April. Our Queen Mum will contact you with further information.
We have now set up a new email account olneytowncourt@hotmail.co.uk, which you can email us on if you have any information or questions regarding Queen and Princesses.
Hope to see you around the town and at the selection night.
Love Sarah, Emily and Steph x
Olney Bowling Club
Outdoor bowlers are easing themselves out of hibernation and blinking at the bright spring sunshine. Those who have played indoors all winter will be thinking of the adjustments they will have to make to accommodate the different playing conditions.
The clubhouse will be open on Friday 11 April to welcome members old and new and the treasurer will attend to welcome receipt of fees and subscriptions. A members’ meeting will be held during the evening so that any matters that need discussing can be aired. Any questions should be posted on the noticeboard in advance so that the committee can research the answers.
The first match will be at home on Saturday 18 April. If it is a pleasant afternoon why not come and watch us, you might catch the bug and have a go. To facilitate anyone who, as a result, is itching to try there will be an open day in May. The day is yet to be decided so there will be a cliffhanger until our next instalment – ‘dum’ – ‘dum’ – ‘dumdumdum’!
