OLNEY 4U – the Olney Healthcheck
Question: How do you prioritise Olney’s key issues? Answer: You let the community decide!
Olney Health Check is a community group with the aim of creating a long-term vision and plan for Olney that is community lead with a real focus on local issues.
Over the last year, the group has been consulting the Town and surrounding areas, gathering and collating information from businesses, schools, Milton Keynes Council, agencies, public services and the general public. This information has raised many key issues so where do you suggest we start? What does Olney need first?
We are approaching the most exciting part of the Olney Health Check process; we are at the stage where we need to prioritise the key issues for the Town so that we can start planning for change. Maybe you were too busy to fill in and return a questionnaire or perhaps you thought it wouldn’t make a difference; but how can you influence anything if we can’t hear your voice?

We are a voluntary group based in Sharnbrook, with members coming from surrounding villages, and Bedford. We organise trips to theatres, such as Northampton, Milton Keynes, Peterborough and similar locations. We go to plays, musical shows, and concerts, around one per month. Coaches start from Sharnbrook. Our aim is to provide a service to people who would find it difficult to get to a theatre themselves, or prefer to go with others. The annual cost of membership is £3.50 a year, which covers administration costs.
