Councillor Corner
A contribution from Councillor Debbie Brock
“...Heaven must be missing an angel...”
To pinch the sentiments of a great song, Pete and I were blessed with a healthy daughter on the 3rd October at 9:34am. Frances Patricia Michaelle Geary, ‘Frankie’, was born at Milton Keynes General Hospital weighing 7lbs 7oz. I would like to thank our Midwife Carol Duncombe and Gill Waggle for the outstanding care we received, also all at Cobb’s Garden Surgery for their support.
Tribute must also be paid to Professor C.B. Lynch and the staff at Milton Keynes General Hospital – those in the scanning department, of whom we saw a lot, to the staff on the Labour Ward and Ward 9 where we received the most tremendous care.
Thank you also so very much for all the cards and well wishes we have received. It has been somewhat difficult to pick up the threads of work in the midst of three hourly feeds, however through November I will slowly start to get back on track.
Debbie, Pete and ‘Frankie’.
25 Years a Cricketing Man
At their recent Annual Dinner, The Olney Town Cricket Club awarded Andrew Griffin The Bob Soul Award for 25 years Service to the Cricket Club. ‘Griff’ as he is known takes meticulous pride in his ‘square’ and is a valued team member having recently also scored a century, not to mention the fantastic 99. Ever the keen sportsman he is also a stalwart of Olney’s Football Club.
MK Council Garages in Olney
Thank you to all those who responded recently about letting garages on Spring Lane and Oakdown Crescent, also to those who were in touch over the state of the garages off Spinney Hill Road. There is due to be a Probation Service Project to tidy up the brambles and weeds at the Oakdown Crescent site and to repaint the garage doors. Milton Keynes Council have undertaken to clean up their garages off Spinney Hill Road which is not before time as they are a complete disgrace and I
will continue to push for this to be carried out.
Wind Farm Update
I write updates on the Windfarm most months; it seems however that the end is in sight for the Petsoe Manor Farm application at least. The latest report given at the North East Area Forum is that the planning committee should be judging the application some time in December. It is not too late for
