Charity Fashion Show in aid of Willen Hospice
early a hundred people turned out for the fashion show at Emberton
Village Hall on the evening of Tuesday 9th October. The show was staged by Rosemary Brighton, a fashion company from Kent and the seven models were all friends of the organisers, Pat Fleming of Sherington, Pam Horton of Emberton and Kathy Martin of Olney.
The evening got off to a great start with a glass of very pleasant sparkling Australian wine for everybody plus a selection of canapés. This was a fashion show with a difference because all the clothes and accessories modelled and much more besides were available to purchase. After the hour-long show, everyone had a great deal of fun looking through the rails of clothing and the tables filled with scarves, handbags and costume jewellery. Many went home with bags full of their purchases.
A raffle was held which raised £382 and thanks must go to the contributors of the prizes: Althea Lifestyles, Davis Opticians, Browns Hairdressers, Aubergine, Rosemary Brighton, New Leaf, Macintyre Hudson and James Fleming. The monies raised from ticket sales and donations was exactly £1,000 making a grand total including the cash from the raffle of £1,382. This has been donated to Willen Hospice for their Day Hospice Extension Appeal. K
