Bienvenue a Tickford Park
There was a very Gallic flavour to Tickford Park School recently as they celebrated French Day 2007.
The day began with a French breakfast of croissant, pain au chocolat and French bread with hot chocolate and was followed for the day with songs, games and competitions all in French. The children dressed accordingly with a variety of French-related costumes from a Tour de France team, to a copy of the Mona Lisa by way of a champagne bottle and even a French bean!
Head teacher Ann Tobia said, “Every child learns French at Tickford Park from Foundation stage upwards and we feel it is important that they learn through enjoying a range of activities.” K

your voice to be heard, you can still write to Peter Joel at Milton Keynes Council. The Nunn Wood application is not so clear and it seems that this application will not be looked at any time in the near future.
Olney Bells
By the time this report is dropping on your doormats the Olney Bells Appeal will have been launched. The Bishop of Buckingham is due to launch the appeal on the 27th October that will see fundraising plans swing into action in order to raise around £115,000. The funds will enable the existing bells to be “retuned” as well as installing two new bells placed in the tower. The bells at Olney’s St Peter & St Paul’s Church are an historic feature, the oldest dating from 1599 and six of the current eight dating from the times of John Newton. After the works, Olney will be in the unique position in north Bucks, being able to offer a ten bell training
environment. I am sure over the coming months we will hear much more of the plans but I wish the committee good luck.
If you would like to make a donation to the appeal, or would like details on sponsorship options please contact Mrs Helen Dilley, at 26, Lime Street, Olney, Bucks MK46 5BA or helen@grahamandhelen.org.uk . Cheques should be made payable to ‘Olney PCC Bells Appeal’.
Sad News
My sincere condolences go to Revd. Val Reveley, whose husband Mr Ed Fowell recently and most unexpectedly passed away. Val and Ed were married at St Peter and St Paul’s Church almost two years ago and were a great team. In the course of her ministry Val has helped and supported many families and loved ones at times of grief and great sadness and I am sure we would all wish her and her family peace at this time. K
